Bridget and Aaron K

Bridget and Aaron called me because their moms told them to.

Okay, it was a little more complicated than that.

These two are the kind of people that just squeeze every bit of happiness out of life. They love their giant dogs and their little house; they love Crossfit, including competitions; they love to hike and travel and eat and drink. Most of all, they LOVE spending time with their family and friends. They wanted their wedding guests to feel 100% comfortable and included in their ceremony.

They are both Jewish, but Judaism is not the biggest part of their lives. They weren’t really sure that a rabbi could arrange a ceremony that felt comfortable and inclusive for everyone.

Both moms really dreamed of seeing a rabbi officiate their kids’ weddings, though. Bridget’s mom had a hunch that the couple should call me before making a final decision. I’m SO glad they did!

Planning this ceremony was a blast. Solemnity? Not for these two. We started with the basic Jewish prayers and then padded them heavily with personal touches, heartfelt speeches, jokes about beer - and wine - and bourbon - and left lots of space for spontaneous shout outs to family and friends.

We laughed - a lot. Bridget cried a little, and Aaron got ferklempt.

Oh, and the moms? They were very, very happy.

Mazal Tov, Bridget and Aaron! It was an honor to plan the perfect ceremony for YOU.
