Meet the people I’ve had the privilege and honor to work with.
They have trusted me with some of the most important moments in their lives.
We’ve laughed and cried together.
They are family.
Dr. Colby and Emily S
Colby and Emily called me several months before their scheduled interfaith wedding in Lexington, Kentucky. This wedding was a first for me - the couple wanted their Jewish and Catholic heritages to be equally and richly represented in the ceremony. They had a priest from Emily’s childhood who couldn’t officiate, but who I could call whenever I needed to. My response - Looks like I’ve got a lot of learning to do!
Mara and Danny K.
I was so excited when Mara and Danny booked me for my first-ever Kentucky wedding. They wanted an interfaith wedding rabbi to help them create a ceremony that was mostly traditionally Jewish, with some meaningful elements from Danny’s Episcopalian upbringing, which he treasures. So this would be a solidly Jewish-Episcopalian interfaith wedding.
Dr. Dan and Sam B.
Mazal Tov, Dan and Sam! It was my honor and privilege to officiate your Jewish interfaith wedding on a perfect Saturday in Pittsburgh.
Natalie and Austin L
Natalie, coming from the perspective of not being raised in a Jewish home, was very attached to the idea of incorporating as many of the Jewish wedding customs as possible. Yes! Austin thought they might make her uncomfortable, but Natalie embraced them with an open heart toward learning everything she could about Jewish traditions. She circled Austin and they exchanged vows in Hebrew. She chose a beautiful kiddush cup to be their family’s cup for every celebration in the future. We incorporated a welcome Psalm, as well as inviting all four of their parents to the chuppah to give them the Priestly Blessing found in the Bible.
Drs. Rachel & Josh G
These two called me to officiate their Jewish / interfaith wedding over a year and a half before their date. The bride had done her research. She knew that it was important to both of them that they find a rabbi to conduct their interfaith wedding ceremony, and she had read that it might be difficult.
Chelsea and Max E

Baby Oliver F - a baby naming at home in Dublin, Ohio
Oliver’s two moms celebrated his first birthday with a baby naming! It’s their interfaith family’s tradition to combine their childrens’ first birthdays with a baby naming. Mazal Tov, Oliver F and his moms!
Maddie & Maddie
The chuppah beautifully showcased their Jewish heritage. Maddie F’s family tallis and Maddie C’s family tartan intricately woven into the chuppah’s served as a poignant reminder of their shared journey and the roots they cherish. Their own tallis was hung, too, demonstrating their love of their ancestry and their hopes for a beautiful shared future.
Emerson M - A Third Generation Bat Mitzvah at Clintonville Park of Roses
Between COVID, competitive figure skating, running a small business, and starting the eighth grade, could Emerson pull off a meaningful and fun bat mitzvah service?
With my help? Absolutely.
Bridget and Aaron K
Together, we created a ceremony that made both the couple and their (very opinionated) Jewish mothers very happy.
